Live editing at The Print Show 2025

During the summer, I was contacted by David from Print Monthly to be a part of their stand at The Print Monthly show this year which took place at the NEC in Birmingham – not too far from where I’m originally from.

The job itself was to help David film mini discussions between him and other company representatives who work within the print industry on the Print Monthly stand. The setup and filming was simple; the challenge was turning around the edits and posting across their socials as quickly as possible.

I used their camera which was a Panasonic GH5. I had never used it before, so I had to quickly figure out the settings, which were fairly simple in the end. We used the DJI mics on the presenter mic holders alongside branded box covers, which I think made it look much more professional. We used a mixture of their lights and mine in order to show the two people in conversation as well as the background, just to separate them a little more.

Over the course of the three days, I created 12 main videos which were hosted on Print Monthly’s YouTube and shared across LinkedIn. I also clipped out moments from those 12 videos for Instagram and YouTube shorts, to gain traction and encourage people to click through to watch the full discussion.

The client was pleased with the quality and speed at which I delivered the content and was happy for me to crack on with creating the content for their socials.
